In a particularly moving event on 21/11/2025, the Council expressed its warm thanks and honored the main sponsors who contributed decisively to the purchase of medical equipment for the new operating room of the Pediatric Oncology Department of Arch. Makarios III Hospital . These sponsors are the Leventis Foundation, the Leventis Art Gallery and the Greek Embassy. Additionally, the Council provided a significant amount of money, which was raised through events held specifically for this purpose.
The event was honored with their presence by the Honorable Minister of Health, Mr. Michalis Damianou, the Executive Director of the Nicosia Health and Social Welfare Directorate, Mr. Christos Christou, as well as the Executive Medical Director of the Hospital and member of the Board, Dr. Christos Minas. On behalf of the sponsors, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Foundation Anastasios G. Leventis, Mr. Anastasios Leventis, as well as the member of the Board of Directors Mr. George David. From the Leventis Art Gallery, the Director, Ms. Lucia Chatzigabriel, while a representative of the Greek Embassy was also present.
In their speeches, both the Minister of Health and the President of the Council referred to the important work carried out by the Hospital, while underlining the essential role of the Council, which, through its financial support, contributes to the relief of patients’ families, reducing the concerns and burdens they face.
